The first Brussels Multilingualism Week took place from 9 to 14 February 2026 with the participation of nearly 100 partners. It was organized by the Brussels Council for Multilingualism with the support of the Brussels Capital Region and the City of Brussels. It consisted in both public and internal activities organized in diverse locations throughout the region and at the Bourse.
The full programme of the 2026 edition remains accessible, so as to provide inspiration for the next one and encourage contact with the organizers. For some of the debates that took place at the Bourse on 13 and 14 February, ppt presentations were made. They can be downloaded here. And a novel way of capturing language diversity in the 19 municipalities of the Brussels region by exploiting social media data was presented at one of the sessions. Some of the results are presented here.
